In order to guarantee the highest environmental and social standards of furniture manufacture, our TECK ETHIK team acts with due pragmatism in the field:
At least once every three months, we visit the teakwood plantations where we meet the people in charge of the site and the professionals responsible for the health and the well-being of the forest.
We drop in on the factories at least every two months , often unannounced, to check the official traceability documents and the characteristics of the trunks that are used, and to verify that the source of the timber which we use in our furniture manufacture comes from plantations with which we have an ongoing, working relationship.
During those regular visits, we meet the staff and discuss with them, in their native language, their working conditions and the difficulties they are facing. We subsequently discuss these issues with the managers of the production site in order to influence such important things as salary levels and sanitary and safety conditions. .
We are well-known and acknowledged by the Thai authorities who, after more than one year lobbying, open their doors to us, listen to us and exchange with us to achieve those virtuous techniques and the acquiring of a new FSC certification.
inally, we collaborate with the universities to make design students more aware of the exploitation of ethical material and to build bridges between university and the enterprise through regular exchange and development of the designs they offer us.
